Amanjit Lalli - Director/Solicitor

Amanjit is the owner and founder of A L Law and has been qualified since January 2000. She specialises in the area of Family and Children Law.

Amanjit is currently a member of the following panels:

  • Law Society’s Children Panel – Children Representative
  • Advanced Family Law Panel
  • Domestic Violence Advisor – Advanced Family Law Panel
  • The Ministry of Justice, International Child Abduction & Contact Unit Panel

Amanjit is also a member of Resolution, Reunite and Association of Lawyers for Children.

Amanjit is a specialist in International Child Abduction and works to ensuring the best outcomes for her clients. She also represents parents, family members, children’s guardians and children in all children cases. Amanjit is able to advise on Family/Matrimonial matters and practices in both the High Court and Family Courts, acting for publicly funded and private clients. She practices her own advocacy at all levels.

Amanjit undertakes pro bono work on a regular basis with local women’s centres and CAB’s. She is dedicated to working with all vulnerable members of society that require assistance and further committed to charitable work with a number of local Charities.

Amanjit is also experienced in Wills, Trust and Probate work.

Outside work Amanjit enjoys yoga, reading and travelling.

Gavin Brown - Solicitor

Gavin is a Child Care and Family Solicitor and conducts his own advocacy in childcare and family matters. Gavin is an accredited member of the Law Society’s Children Panel – Children Representative

Gavin has experience of undertaking extensive work on all areas of children and family law including Wardship, Child Abduction, Divorce, Public and Private Children law applications.

Prior to specialising Child Care and Family law, Gavin gained extensive experience in Criminal law, where he represented clients who had been charged with serious crimes including murder, assaults, and sexual offences. During this time, Gavin was also a police accredited representative and built up a firm client base. Gavin advised clients at the police station, as to the strengths and weaknesses of their case and their options in interview at the police station. Gavin undertook complex casework on a range of cases, developed strong relationships with barristers and conducted prison visits on a regular basis.

Combining his experience in Child Care and Criminal Law, Gavin has conducted several Care Proceeding matters from his existing clientele.

Gavin has represented clients at court, Legal Planning Meetings and Child Protection Conferences and advised them extensively, as to the procedure in Care Proceedings undertaken by the Local Authority.

During his spare time enjoys playing and watching football, reading, and spending time with his family.

Cherin Sparrow - Solicitor

Cherin joined A L Law Associates in June 2019 as a newly qualified Child Care and Family Solicitor after completing her Law Degree and LPC at the University of Hertfordshire.

Since joining the firm, Cherin has developed a well-rounded practice, representing clients in all aspects of Family Law, including both Private and Public Children matters, Divorce, Financial Settlements, Co-habitation agreements, Pre-nuptial agreements, Post-nuptial agreements, Child Abduction, and Domestic Abuse cases, such as Non-Molestation and Occupational Orders. A committed advocate, Cherin is dedicated to guiding her clients through all stages of legal proceedings, from the initial hearings to final resolution.

Specialising in Divorce and Financial matters, Cherin has extensive experience representing a diverse range of clients, from low to high-net-worth individuals, and always works tirelessly to secure the most favourable financial settlements. Her expertise extends to advising unmarried clients on cohabitation agreements, financial provisions for children under Schedule 1 of the Children Act 1989, and disputes regarding shared homes or property under the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996.

In addition to her work in Family Law, Cherin brings a well-rounded skill set, having gained experience in Civil Litigation and Insolvency during her training. She is a passionate litigator who supports clients in matters such as debt collection, while also striving to encourage negotiation and settlement to minimise unnecessary legal costs. However, when litigation is necessary, she is fully equipped to guide clients through the court process.

Cherin also provides independent legal advice to investors acting as personal guarantors in corporate loan transactions. She offers comprehensive advice on the legal implications of acting as a guarantor, ensuring that clients make informed decisions tailored to their specific circumstances.

A member of both the Advanced Family Panel and Resolution, Cherin adheres to the principles of resolving family disputes in a constructive and amicable manner, prioritising the best interests of children and families at every stage. She believes building a strong rapport with clients is essential to achieving positive outcomes and strives to offer a supportive and empathetic approach throughout the legal process.

Cherin is passionate about giving back to the community. She volunteers with domestic abuse charities and the Citizens Advice Bureau, providing pro bono support to individuals who may otherwise struggle to access legal services. Outside of work, Cherin enjoys baking, travelling, and reading.

Nazmin Sultan-Khan - Solicitor

Nazmin is a highly skilled solicitor who obtained her qualifications within a London-based firm. She has amassed numerous years of experience in the legal field, highlighting her wealth of experience within Wills, Probate and Family Law, making her a trusted advisor in her field.

 Nazmin excels in navigating the complex intricacies of contentious probate matters, estate planning and assisting executors in the administration of estates ensuring every aspect of these legal processes is thoroughly addressed. 

In matrimonial proceedings and matters concerning children, Nazmin understands the emotional and complex nature of the cases and approaches them with the utmost sensitivity, striving to achieve fair and amicable solutions for her clients. She is also a compassionate advocate, dedicated to helping her clients navigate challenging legal issues with care and expertise.

Nazmin specialises in Islamic Law as well as English Law and is able to advise clients on a range of issues within this area of Law.

Outside of work, Nazmin finds joy in watching Turkish dramas, honing her baking skills and cherishing precious moments with her children. This reflects her well-rounded nature, which undoubtedly enhances her ability to empathise with and support her clients.

Patricia Gall - Trainee Solicitor

Patricia joined A L Law Associates in January 2023 as a paralegal and began her training contract with the firm in January 2024. She is currently working as a trainee solicitor and is on track to qualify in October 2025.

As a trainee solicitor, Patricia has worked under the direct supervision of the Director, Amanjit Lalli and assisted other fee earners in the firm where necessary. Patricia’s role within the team involves assisting with day-to-day case handling, attending court to provide support to counsel and drafting legal documents.

Patrica has gained hands-on experience in a wide range of family law areas, including Divorce and Financial Proceedings, Private Law Children Matters, Public Law Care Proceedings, International Child Abduction and Domestic Abuse cases. Patricia has her own case load in respect of domestic abuse cases and regularly attends court to conduct her own advocacy on these matters. Patricia also represents clients at Public Law Outline meetings with the Social Services and has now started to represent clients in Public Law Care Proceedings.

Patricia has continued to strengthen her legal knowledge and advocacy skills, which she looks forward to developing further as she approaches qualification.

Prior to joining A L Law, Patricia completed her undergraduate degree in Law at De Montfort University and undertook the Legal Practice Course. Patricia always held an interest in family law and completed her dissertation on “Changes in Divorce Laws and the Impacts it has on Children.
