About

Gavin is the Head of the Care Department and a leading Child Care and Family Law Solicitor, representing parents, children, and extended family members in complex care proceedings and family law disputes. As an accredited member of the Law Society’s Children Panel, he is recognised for his specialist expertise in both public and private children law, and for delivering clear, strategic advice during highly sensitive situations.

With extensive experience in Care Proceedings, Child Protection, Wardship, Child Abduction, and Private Law Children Act applications, Gavin conducts his own advocacy and is known for his thorough preparation and strong courtroom representation. Clients value his calm, practical guidance and his ability to explain legal processes in a clear and supportive manner.

Before specialising in children law, Gavin spent many years in Criminal Defence, representing clients accused of serious offences including assault, sexual offences, and murder. As a police station accredited representative, he advised clients during interviews, managed complex casework, and worked alongside leading barristers. This dual background gives him a unique advantage when handling family cases involving overlapping criminal allegations, risk assessments, or police involvement.

Throughout his career, Gavin has represented clients in court hearings, Legal Planning Meetings, Public Law Outline (PLO) meetings, and Child Protection Conferences. He provides straightforward advice on Local Authority procedures, ensuring every client fully understands their rights, the legal framework, and the steps taken by social services.

Known for his professionalism, compassion, and robust advocacy skills, Gavin is committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for the families he represents. His reputation and experience make him a highly sought after family law solicitor and care proceedings specialist.

Outside of work, Gavin enjoys football, reading, and spending quality time with his family.
